Phakela Kicthen and Internet Launch
“We would like to thank Vincent Prior from StitchWise for this wonderful and generous sponsorship and assure him that this is something that will change the lives of children every day,” said Dr Dolly Dlavane, chairperson of the Thobo Trust Board during the launch of a fully equipped mobile kitchen at the Phakela Primary School in Hartbeesfontein. “We are also grateful to NW Internet Services for the installation of wi-fi at the premises. You indirectly opened up the world to these children.”
The sponsorships by StitchWise and Thobo Trust included a new kitchen to Phakela Primary School, and an upgraded kitchen to Phakela Secondary School. “The new gas stovetops, microwaves, refrigerators and steel cupboards form part of the equipment making it possible to provide the pupils in these schools with two meals per day,” Dlavane continued. “The mobile kitchen’s beautiful branding was sponsored by Sebenza Signs, making it an extra lovely experience for the school kids.”
The Marabaraba game was recently designed with the help of Senwes and 100 of these games were donated to the Phakela schools, with the idea to mentally develop the children in a playful manner. To end off the successful day various musical items were delivered, together with the donation of vegetables and oranges.
